I signed up with Learning Arena in November 2013. I am glad that I scored full marks for my Science test in Term 1. I enjoy the lessons and stay back after lesson to have some games with my peers occasionally. I am confident to do well in the coming PSLE.

Since Primary 4, I find the subjects getting more difficult. I kept failing in the tests and examinations. I joined Learning Arena in January 2014. In the recent Maths test, only 2 pupils passed it. I am surprised that I top the class. Since only 2 pupils passed the test, my teacher gave us a re-test. Again, I top the class.

I had attended many tuition classes conducted by centres at Aljunied, Kovan including the home of a MOE teacher at Paya Lebar. Yet I failed in my Maths & Physics badly, scoring between 20-30 marks. I joined Learning Arena in August 2013. I enjoy Wilson’s lessons very much. I am impressed by his knowledge and follow his lessons closely. He even covered the lower secondary syllabus to strengthen my foundation. I scored over 80 marks for my Maths & Physics in the recent tests; 1st in class for Maths test and 2nd in class for Physics test. I am hopeful for my coming GCE’O’ Level Exam. My cousins and sisters also joined me at Learning Arena.

I have been doing moderately well in Maths but I believe I can do much better. Witnessing so many students in Learning Arena topping in their respective classes, it motivates me to work even harder. My efforts paid off as I scored the highest mark in my recent Maths test. I am happy to top the class.

I had joined Learning Arena since Primary 5. Learning Arena had guided me through my PSLE, GCE ‘O’ Level and GCE ‘A’ Level examinations in the last 8 years.

Mr Wilson had advised and supported me selflessly. He had tutored me some of the subjects and engaged a few other tutors including Jia San and Shawn who are currently studying Medicine in UK and Dr Yap who is working as a scientist/researcher in A*star. Not forgetting then NTU undergraduate, Nasri, then NUS undergraduate, Ming Yuan and NUS undergraduate Ming Kai. I enjoyed learning from them.

Learning Arena monitors the students closely, providing us with lots of practices and exposed us to various examination papers, preparing us well. We need to reciprocate by completing our homework and learn from our mistakes, avoid repeating the same mistakes in examinations. However, I had witnessed students joining with the mindset that they would do well by joining Learning Arena. They put in minimum effort and expected Learning Arena to help them achieve good scores. They left eventually.

I am grateful to Learning Arena and my tutors for what I had achieved so far. I am entering another chapter of my life with confidence, currently serving the National Service while applying for university course.

Physics from F9 to A2

I did badly for Physics ever since I was streamed into the Triple Sciences class. My classmates and I were struggling with Physics and some of them gave up and ‘dropped’ the subject.

My mother signed me up for Physics class in Learning Arena. After attending Mr. Wilson’s lessons, did I realize that a few things were not covered in school yet tested in the past years’ exam papers. That probably explains why my classmates and I did badly in class tests and school examination. Mr Wilson took about 14 months to cover our 2 years’ syllabus and I scored A for Physics in my preliminary examination.

It was reported in the newspapers that parents found what was taught in schools, not adequate to score well in examination.

Physics from D7 to A1

My grades for Physics dropped after SA1 and I failed my CA2 Physics. My mother contacted Learning Arena to find out more about the class schedule and signed me up for the Physics class.

I was amazed that Mr Wilson could cover our Sec 3 topics in 4-5 months before proceeding to Sec 4 topics. He explained his teaching sequence and approach to us, making us ready for the upcoming lessons.

Mr Wilson graduated with Engineering Degree from Nanyang Technological University and worked as an engineer previously, and now a Senior QAQC Manager.

He knows our topics well and illustrated with interesting examples, making us understand the concepts better. We thus able to apply the Physics concept when tested in examination. It gives me greater assurance to have my Physics taught by a trained Engineer.

Creativity cannot be taught or imparted but Mr. Wilson who is imaginative, shared with me many examples on how a composition can be written. He showed me the few ways to start a composition and conclude a composition, making me understand which areas to work on, in order to score higher grades. His examples were funny and interesting.

He also checked if my compositions were realistic and logical. He went through my compositions and commented on my works, pointing out my strength and weakness, telling me areas to improve on. School teachers won’t be able to go through every compositions in class. I am grateful that Mr.Wilson customized his lessons for me. His teaching strengthen my foundation, allowing me to cope better in the secondary school years.

I joined Learning Arena in Primary 5 for Maths, Science & Chinese classes. Mr. Wilson’s lessons are enjoyable and enriching. I told Mr. Wilson of my target score; 240. He was strict with us, monitored our homework closely and checked our works zealously. He is experienced and understand our strength and weakness. He has a pair of eyes for details and picked up our mistakes effortlessly, watching us like a hawk. He may seem nonchalant in class but he definitely knows what is going on and had our lessons properly planned.

He offered us free Maths classes, going through past years PSLE papers on every Sundays, 3 months before PSLE. I improved a lot for all my subjects and scored 252 for PSLE.

Thanks to Mr. Wilson for his teaching and guidance.

I scored 40.5 for Mathematics so I started Mathematics tuition with Learning Arena in March 2013. I was very happy to achieve the score of 73 in my final year examination. Not only did I improve my Mathematics in 7 months, I also received the Best Improvement Award in Mathematics from my school. The tutor is interactive and experienced. I do not mind travelling from Woodlands to Learning Arena weekly for my tuition.

I was an average student in school and usually scored C for English and Science. I often played computer games and did not have the urge to study. I joined Learning Arena in February 2013. Wilson taught me English and Science. He is friendly and experienced. He constantly updated my mother on my progress thus I was under close monitoring. In a period of 8-9 months of guidance under Wilson, I scored As for English and Science in the PSLE, 2013.

Before attending science tuition, I really hated Chemistry and got F9 for my exams. However, after I attended tuition, my grades started improving from an F9 to B3 and gradually to A2 for my GCE 'O' Levels. I want to thank my tutor Wilson for helping me achieve this result through his interactive and engaging way of teaching. He taught me how to remember Physics and Chemistry concepts easily through maths and this allowed me to grasp them better. He also answered and explained my questions clearly, highlighted probable examination questions and pinpointed areas which most students make mistakes in.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to Wilson for all the efforts he had taken during the 2.5 years he taught my daughter Physics and Chemistry. She scored an A2 in her GCE 'O' Level. He ensured that she starts the lesson with the right mindset and made the lessons interesting. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

My son Kenneth was struggling with his maths and science, especially in the areas of remembering formulas, concepts and practical. Wilson taught Kenneth how to match a formula with a particular problem or sum. On certain occasions, Wilson would explain by using life applications as well. My son used to be quiet and not being able to express much but Wilson would go all the way to help Kenneth. During exams or when facing a difficulty, Wilson encouraged my son to call him to seek help and advice. As a result, Kenneth improved in his maths from F9 to a pass and gradually to a B. Kenneth's self-esteem also improved and now he is able to communicate better and openly on his weakness. Wilson is a patient and dedicated tutor. He is friendly, reliable, helpful and set a good example for my son. You will be able to put your mind at ease when your child is under Wilson's care.

Wilson taught my son, Daniel for a short period in 2008 before he went for his 10 months of hospitalization leave. We found him to be a responsible and cheerful teacher. As my son is extremely quiet, he went the extra mile to chat with him regularly in order to establish a level of comfort and good rapport. I can recommend Wilson without reservation to anyone looking for a patient and effective teacher.
